Valentino launches makeup line in August 2021

When you think of Valentino, one of the images you certainly conjure up is their signature color: red. Now that signature color is finally encapsulated in a lipstick shade with the launch of Valentino’s long-awaited makeup line.
We’ve even seen new brand ambassador Son Ye-jin sporting a sultry lipstick in her DI.VAs campaign. With this upcoming launch, Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli goes beyond the haute couture brand and expands its strong line of fragrances.
The makeup collection should focus on inclusion, in line with what today’s consumers are looking for. It will be open to all genders, ages and cultures and will include a range of around 50 lipsticks and 40 foundations for every skin tone, as well as various sets of experimental eye products. While this shouldn’t come as a surprise, Valentino has always been at the forefront, being the first fashion house to add menswear to couture.
“Beauty is democratic. I look at the identity of each individual, the uniqueness that encompasses diversity and inclusiveness. Beauty is a matter of grace,” says Piccioli. âGrace is something you can’t describe, it’s a perception. Beauty is something that gives me emotion. It’s a connection. For makeup, my vision is Rosso Valentino 22, on a morph of 16 people, âhe adds.
This means that we can expect the makeup line to be bold, multifunctional and individualistic at the same time. Piccolo adds that he designed the makeup line as a “couture” for the face. We can also expect the collection to be representative as 16 non-models were used to bring it to life and represent the many faces of the Valentino brand.
The Valentino Beauty makeup collection will be unveiled on May 31 at Selfridges department store in London. Pre-orders begin June 1 in the United States while the global launch begins from August 2021.
