Valentino unveils a haute couture collection in the heart of Venice
For his Fall 2021 Couture offer, the creative director of Valentino Pierpaolo Piccioli has chosen to present his latest addition in the former Venetian shipyard of Gaggiandre, traditionally enlisted as a venue for international art and architecture exhibitions. While its layout is “fashion is not âartâ, the colorful, inspiring and dramatic pieces felt like masterpieces towards them. And indeed, Piccioli had enlisted 17 artists to collaborate with the workshop on 22 of the 82 creations that danced on the track. Although only a fraction of the looks featured the artists’ motifs – for example, an intarsia coat covered with an Andrea Respino painting made from 150 different fabrics and embellished with sequins – all spoke deeply of both the craftsmanship and the beauty of haute couture. The color palette of heavily pigmented hues and their sometimes muted counterparts was accentuated by tone-on-tone opera gloves, balloon sleeves, trailing capes, and jellyfish fur hats. See some highlights from the track below:
Balenciaga launches ultra-exclusive running sneaker, only available at Kith

Offered in three colors and in men’s and women’s sizes, the sneaker will feature Balenciaga’s signature logo on the tongue, a pull tab on the heel and personalized Kith and Balenciaga branding that speaks of the limited edition inventory number. Zara launches the Tribute collection with Peter Lindbergh in honor of Franca Sozzani
In honor of acclaimed image creator Peter Lindbergh, Zara launched a debut Tribute collection, featuring some of the late photographer’s most beloved works. In the five-piece collection, black-and-white photographs from the 1990s of Kate Moss, Amber Valletta, and Lynne Koester, among others, can be found splattered on t-shirts and sweaters. Launched today, the collection was born out of friendship, as the international retailer brought in Lindbergh’s longtime friend Fabien Baron to organize the photographs and serve as the creative director of the project. In addition, all of the profits from the fundraising will be donated to the Franca Sozzani Fund, in honor of former Vogue Italy editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani (another close friend who has worked alongside Lindbergh throughout their fashion careers.) The fund supports work on preventive genomics, in particular the Global BabySeq project, and aims to accelerate preventive medicine and to combat racial disparities in the field of genomics. . You can buy the collection here.
